Senior Backend Developer - PHP
If you’re curious, hands-on, and enjoy improving things others say are “good enough,” you’ll be in good company.

We hiring on behalf of a fast-growing international tech company that’s building large-scale, high-performance systems used by millions globally. The team is known for its engineering excellence, product ownership culture, and real focus on clean architecture and scalability. They work in a high-traffic environment with modern cloud infrastructure and are looking to strengthen their backend team with experienced developers who thrive on real technical challenges.
This role isn’t about writing code. It’s about building a system that holds up when the world pushes hard.
If you’ve ever felt your backend knowledge could do more, at scale, under pressure, and with real impact, this is your kind of role.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs used by millions.
- Refactor and evolve legacy components to support performance, clarity, and long-term maintainability.
- Own complex database logic from schema design to slow query analysis.
- Shape architecture decisions around microservices, caching, data models, and cloud infrastructure.
- Collaborate across disciplines, working directly with product, frontend, and DevOps.
- Help strengthen our engineering culture through reviews, automation, and shared ownership.
What You Bring:
You’re not just a developer. You’re a builder. A challenger. Someone who sees problems early and loves simplifying complexity.
We’re looking for:
- 7+ years of PHP development experience, including pure PHP, not just framework-driven.
- Mastery of OOP, SOLID principles, and modern architecture/design patterns.
- Comfort working with large, complex database schemas (relational and non-relational).
- Strong experience with indexing, query optimization, and analyzing system performance under heavy load.
- Experience designing and maintaining microservice architectures and understanding their trade-offs.
- Solid working knowledge of AWS infrastructure (e.g., EC2, RDS, IAM, S3) and how to connect services cleanly and securely.
- Experience with Symfony or similar PHP frameworks, or the ability to ramp up quickly.
- Familiarity with other languages like Python or Java.
- Comfort with CI/CD pipelines, Agile methodologies, and high-trust engineering environments.
- Clear communication skills, humility in collaboration, and a bias for getting things done right, not just fast.
Why You Might Love This:
- Autonomy and ownership: You won’t just execute, you’ll help define.
- Real scale: This is more than theory; you’ll be building systems that carry load.
- Respect for craft: no shortcuts, no pretending, just solving problems properly.
- Learning culture: They support your growth, not just your current skill set.
- No theater: They value honesty over posturing. You don’t need to fake knowing everything. We care about what you know and how you learn.
If you’re ready for a place where code meets challenge, and growth meets trust, apply now.
